Trinity Girls basketball has dominated this season with a 16-2 record. Trinity is led by two Division 1 bound players, Kassidy Ingram ‘19 (Loyola House) and Sunshine McCrae ‘19 (Loyola House). The Shamrocks are coming off an outstanding 2017-2018 season where they were District 3 AAA Champions. Ingram and McCrae made a huge impact on the basketball program when they transferred to Trinity last year, Ingram from Carlisle and McCrae from East Pennsboro. They are also the top two leading scorers for the Shamrocks so far this season.
Both players have reached great milestones in their high school basketball careers by scoring 1,000 points in varsity games. Very few players achieve the 1,000th point mark in their careers. Ingram reached the milestone in a 50-32 easily handled win over East Pennsboro on January 15. McCrae reached 1,000 career points against rival Camp Hill in a 50-40 Shamrock win on December 14. McCrae also grabbed her 1,000th rebound against Lancaster Mennonite on January 16.
McCrae and Ingram worked hard to achieve these milestones. Not many schools feature two players who reach the 1000th point milestone in the same season, but Ingram and McCrae pulled off that distinction for the Shamrocks. Ingram will play college ball at Jacksonville University, while McCrae will play at the University of North Carolina – Wilmington. Both programs will get great players who work hard. With leaders like Ingram and McCrae the Shamrocks have the potential to reach even greater heights this season.
