How Trinity’s House System Builds Belonging, Leadership, and Connection
At Trinity High School, we know students thrive when they feel known, supported, and empowered to lead. That belief drives our House System—a unique and intentional approach to building community, inspired by a long-standing European educational model.
From the first day of high school, every student becomes part of a House—a smaller, inclusive community within our larger school. These Houses foster connection across grade levels, provide leadership opportunities, and create a meaningful sense of identity and belonging for each student.
What Makes the House System Special?
Each House at Trinity includes Mentor Groups led by a dedicated teacher and composed of students from all grade levels. These groups meet regularly and form the foundation of our student support system. Mentor teachers walk with students for all four years, offering consistency, encouragement, and a trusted relationship throughout their high school journey.
In this structure, older students naturally take on mentorship roles, helping younger students navigate school life while modeling leadership and care. As students grow, they in turn have the opportunity to lead and guide others.
As Natali ’25 shared:
“The House System helped me talk to other people. It’s a good support system and a good way to meet people from all different activities. Being a House leader has shown me that it’s okay if things don’t always go as planned. Part of being a leader is being flexible and being able to work with others.”
Her words reflect the kind of authentic growth and resilience we hope to cultivate in every Trinity student.
Leadership for All
At Trinity, leadership isn’t reserved for a select few. Through House activities, service projects, and school-wide events, every student has the opportunity to step into a leadership role. Whether planning an event, helping a peer, or leading a House challenge, students learn the value of initiative, teamwork, and responsibility.
The House System creates an environment where leadership is learned through experience—where students develop confidence, communication skills, and the ability to work with others.
A Culture of Care
One of the greatest strengths of the House System is the way it builds a family-like culture. Students, teachers, and administrators know each other by name. They know each other’s stories. That deep level of connection creates a safe, respectful atmosphere where students feel seen and supported—not only academically, but socially and spiritually as well.
At Trinity, we believe every student has God-given gifts and potential. The House System helps unlock that potential by surrounding students with encouragement, opportunity, and a sense of purpose.
