The Trinity High School Quiz Bowl Team is the Capital Area Quiz Bowl League (CAQBL) champion once again. For three straight years, THS has been the best team in central Pennsylvania. Having outscored Mechanicsburg by 1900 points, THS was the number one seed. In the playoffs THS started slowly in each of the three games but came back to completely annihilate East Pennsboro and Cumberland Valley. In the end, neither match was even close. THS faced Carlisle in the finals. Having already destroyed Carlisle 340-220, THS was very positive “We were very confident,” said three-time CAQBL champion Michael Staiger. But Carlisle had gotten better, with a new freshman leading the charge. It came down to the final question, but THS Captin and three-time CAQBL champion Connor Coyle got the last question and THS won on the bonus, 395-390. Both teams shook hands and THS was awarded the 2019-2020 CAQBL trophy. It has been a good season overall with THS taking 4th in multiple tournaments which included the best teams in PA, along with being ranked in the top 10 in the Greater Pennsylvania Quiz Bowl ranking at 9th.
