This was the 10th anniversary for mini-THON at Trinity. For the 10th year, the committee spent extra time making sure it would be the best THON yet. Long days were spent fundraising and planning in order to make this event a success. Even with many obstacles thrown at the committee at the last minute, we were able to continue to push through all challenges in order to reach our goal.
As the night got started, students checked in and were able to watch both the girls and boys basketball games on a live stream set up in the lobby. Even from 30 minutes away, the students were still able to show their spirit and support for our basketball teams. When 8:00 p.m. hit, the event was kicked off with an opening ceremony which consisted of a talk from Mr. O’Brien, a parent of current Trinity students and alumni, and father of a child who passed away from cancer. After that, we had an opening rave to help get everyone’s energy and spirit up.
To continue to keep enthusiasm high, the night was jam packed with tournaments in the gym and activities in the cafeteria.
At our THON this year, we had so many fun activities that the students could participate in. We had volleyball, dodgeball, basketball, ping pong, and badmitton tournaments in the gym. In the cafeteria we had live music, raves, a DJ, Family Feud with Father Sahd, and Mr. Mini-THON.
Hitting our goal of $100,000 meant so much to us as a committee and a school. Seeing that we could all come together through many obstacles and raise that much money is insane. We are so incredibly grateful for everything everyone has done to support our mini-THON over the past 10 years! FTK!
