In November, some members of Loyola House helped out at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick in Harrisburg for a day of service. It was my first time helping out at the Cathedral, so I was a little excited. We helped prepare food and drinks for those less fortunate. Also, we washed dishes that needed to be cleaned. We started the day off in prayer. At the Cathedral, we felt welcomed and felt like we were a part of the loving community of the Church.
It was a great experience because we interacted with many different people. I had a great time helping Mr. Olivetti check people in to come eat. We gave out hats to those who needed them during the cold weather. It felt good to help the homeless out and see the smiles we put on their faces.
We need to interact with our community and help out. I encourage everyone to do that because it’s bigger than us. It felt good to help out and give our time to the people. As we say WE ARE ONE! GO LOYOLA!!!
